Man playing bingo held for fake P500 bills

A man playing bingo electronic machine in a Binondo mall was nabbed by the police the other day for possession of 23 pieces of fake P500 bills.

Now in the custody of Manila Police District (MPD)-Station 11 is suspect Sencon Sabidin, of Tawi-Tawi Street, Maharlika Village in Taguig City, who was arrested based on a complaint lodged by Christopher Diaz, 33, manager of the  New Divisoria Mall Bingo Center located at the 3rd floor of Divisoria Mall on Sto. Cristo Street,  Binondo, Manila.

PO3 Arnaldo Bernardo said the suspect was arrested around 4:30 p.m. Appropriate charges are now being  readied against him.

Diaz told the police he went to the bingo machine where the suspect was playing to open it and encash the latter’s winnings when he took notice that it contained a fake P500 bill which was apparently used to play.

Diaz invited Sabidin to their office where it was discovered that he still had 22 other pieces of fake bills which, when checked, all turned out to be fake.

Sabidin, meanwhile, claimed that the money was merely given to him by a friend from the Muslim area in Quiapo.
