AN FX driver landed in jail after Marikina Mayor Del de Guzman caught him arguing with a traffic enforcer who accosted him for violating traffic laws Wednesday.
Crispin dela Cruz, 41, driver of an FX taxi, reportedly tried to escape and hit enforcer Venerando Balderas, 34, of Marikina City Traffic Management Development Office.
The commotion, which took place on Malvar Street, Barangay Jesus dela Peña, Marikina, caught the attention of De Guzman whose convoy was passing by.
The mayor’s security men went after the driver who was cornered on V. Santos in Barangay Sto. Niño.
“Hindi natin palalagpasin at hindi kailanman kukunsintihin ang mga abusadong indibidwal na hindi sumusunod sa batas o ordinansang ipinatutupad ng pamahalaan,” De Guzman said.
