A neighborhood toughie, who also happens to be a member of a notorious gang, met his grisly death after he was repeatedly hacked with a jungle bolo yesterday morning in Tondo, Manila.
Manila Police District-Homicide Section chief Joey de Ocampo said victim Giorginni Rodoquilo, who is also a pedicab driver and resident of 471 Concuera St., also in Tondo, was killed in an alley at around 10 a.m.
The suspect, whom witnesses identified as Eduardo Babijes, alias Eddie, 55, a taxi driver, of 1765 Interior 5, Varona St., Tondo, is now being hunted down.
De Ocampo said the victim was sleeping on a wooden bench when the suspect, who was drunk, arrived with a jungle bolo and hacked the victim repeatedly. The victim managed to run away but was pursued by the suspect, until he died.
In another development, another pedicab driver was found dead with stabwounds and the two knives used to kill him still stuck in his chest.
De Ocampo said victim Reagan Palogalinggalingan, 25, of 23 San Leonardo St., Tondo, suffered stab wounds in different parts of the body inflicted by two men with whom the victim reportedly had an argument prior to the incident.
The incident took place at around 2:30 a.m. on San Leonardo St., Tondo Manila, after the victim had a drinking session with his brother-in-law Mario Lacalla.
Witnesses told the police that the victim excused himself from the drinking spree only to be found dead minutes later.
