Call center agent crushed between 2 buses

A CALL center agent died a painful and slow death after he was pinned for two hours between  two racing passenger buses in Quezon City at dawn yesterday.

It took two hours for rescuers to extricate the body of Calixtro Phil Gualdrapa, 26, of Francisco Homes, San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan .

Traffic investigator SPO4 Henry Se said Gualdrapa got pinned between a Malanday Metrolink bus (TWM-162) and an RBM Grand Rally Transit bus (UVB-133) at  3:15 a.m. on the north-bound lane of EDSA in Cubao.

The victim was declared dead-on-arrival at the Quirino Memorial Medical Center.

Se said the drivers of both buses face charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide. He said the driver of the Malanday Metrolink bus identified as Romeo Sarmiento, 36, of Bulacan surrendered after the incident.

However the driver of the RBM bus identified as Melenio Agota fled.

Se said the incident took place meters away from the designated bus loading bays.

The victim was about to board the RBM bus when the incident happened.

The RBM bus reportedly tried to overtake the Malanday bus that stopped in front of it while the victim was still boarding.

The RBM bus went past the left side of the Malanday bus.

Unfortunately, the strap of the victim’s bag was caught on a portion of the Malanday bus.

Gualdrapa was dragged out of the RBM bus and was crushed between the two buses.
