A man ended up in jail for attempting to lodge a grenade and shoot his neighbor over a losing fighting cock in Valenzuela City yesterday.
Vicente Bolanio, 30, of Phase 1, Libis, Bgy. Canumay, Valenzuela City, regretted what he had done but his neighbor Antonio Dagoc, 40, a machine operartor, was determined to press charges against him.
“Magsisi man s’ya eh wala na... ’Yung halaga ng talunan n’yang panabong eh wala pang P300, ang piyansang bubunuin n’ya ngayon eh P200,000,” a prober said.
PO3 Ronaldo Subosa of Station Investigation Division (SID) of the Valenzuela City police said charges of frustrated murder and violation of PD 1866 as ammended by RA 8294.
A report said Dagoc confronted Bolanio in front of the former’s house at 7 a.m. over the missing fighting cock.
Earlier that day, Dagoc bought the losing fighting cock and ordered Bolanio to bring it home and had it cooked.
“Ang akala ni Bolanio sa bahay nila iuuwi at iluluto kaya naghintay ng matagal si Dagoc. Nu’ng hindi pa bumabalik si Bolanio, sinugod ni Dagoc ang bahay nito at inakusahang ninakaw ang manok niya,” Subosa said.
Bolanio fumed, took his improvised gun and M67 fragmentation grenade and threatened the victim’s house up. A neighbor called the police.
