AN alleged relative of a top official of the Philippine National Police (PNP) was arrested for  stabbing   his childhood friend in the neck and chest, robbing her and stealing a car being sold by their company more than two years ago in Caloocan City.

Arrested on the strength of a warrant issued by Caloocan City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 128 was Fortunato De Jesus Jr., 35, of Legion of Mary, Barangay Marulas, Valenzuela City.

PO3 Abel Agulto, of the Warrant and Subpoena Section of the Caloocan City police, said De Jesus Jr. went into hiding since September 31, 2009 after the “tragedy” that nearly killed his childhood friend Emma Carpio, 35, of Meycauayan, Bulacan, sales agent of Mitsubishi Union Corp., in Edsa, Caloocan City.

Carpio cried many times while recounting her ordeal that happened last September 31, 2009 in University Hills, Caloocan City, at about 10 a.m.

Prior to the incident, Carpio said De Jesus Jr.  told her that his aunt wanted to buy the Honda City (GTV-546) for P875,000 that their company had been selling.

She said they agreed to meet at a convenience store at 9 a.m.

“Ang sabi n’ya nu’ng una, kasama n’ya ang asawa n’ya pero mag-isa lang pala siya noon,” she added.

De Jesus Jr. said his aunt was at their house in University Hills so she drove the car with the suspect seated beside her.
