A QUEZON City court has granted the motion of a civilian militia charged for the Maguindanao massacre to be confined in a government hospital for an operation.
In a one-page order, QC Regional Trial Court Branch 221 Judge Jocelyn Solis-Reyes granted the urgent motion for medical confinement filed by accused Macton Bilungan to correct his condition, a case of hernia which he had complained of late last year.
Bilungan’s operation was scheduled to take place yesterday, Friday but he was allowed to be admitted at the Philippine General Hospital on Thursday. The court only allowed him to be confined from Thursday till today, Saturday.
“Said accused should be brought back to his detention cell in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City no later than today, Feb. 11,” as stated in the order.
The court granted the motion as it considered a certification submitted by Dr. Dorothy Anne Dumlao, chief resident of the PGH’s Department of Surgery on Bilungan’s check-up in December.
