A MAN who had just bought snacks from a convenience store in Tondo, Manila, was shot dead in broad daylight as he got out of the store the other day.
Robert Gomez Besina, 35, died instantly from four gunshot wounds in the body, after having been shot by an unidentified man for still unknown reasons.
It was learned that at around 3 p.m., Besina had just stepped out of a 7-11 store branch and was already about to ride his parked motorcycle at the corner of Hermosa St. and Jose Abad Santos Avenue when the suspect approached him and shot him pointblank.
Besina died on the spot and the suspect casually walked away from the crime scene and escaped.
Apart from the drinks and pastries he had just bought, also recovered by the police from Besina were his driver’s license and .22-caliber hand gun.
Prober SPO1 Gerardo Rivera of the Manila Police District Homicide Section, meanwhile, said the gun used against the victim was a .45 caliber.
An investigation is underway to establish the motive for the killing and the identity of the suspect.
