AN alleged drug pusher was killed while another got away during a foiled buy-bust operation conducted in Sta. Cruz, Manila yesterday by operatives of the Manila Police District.
MPD Station 3 Commander Supt. James Afalla said the slain suspect, who is about 30 to 40 years old, dark and about 5’7” tall, died instantly due to gunshot wounds in the body while his cohort managed to escape after the planned buy-bust operation conducted by his men at around 1:30 a.m. near the corner of Severino Streeet and Claro M. Recto in Sta. Cruz, Manila was pre-empted.
It was learned that as soon as the suspects noticed that the poseur buyer had a gun and suspected that he was a cop, one of them immediately drew a gun and fired while they were still inside their vehicle.
The police operatives present fired back and hit one of the suspects, from whom they recovered a .38 cal. handgun and a sachet containing shabu.
