POSIBLENG ‘love triangle’ ang naging dahilan ng tangkang pagpatay ng isang kawani ng Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) sa isang 22-anyos na lalaki na karibal nito sa pag-ibig sa isang babaing matagal na nitong pinagpapantasyahan sa lungsod ng Pasay.
Naglalambingan pa habang nakaupo sa harap ng isang videoke bar sina John De Villa, nakatira sa 1718 F.B. Harrison St., Pasay City, at kalive-in na si Jaide Ompad, 22, nang biglang sumulpot mula sa kanilang harapan ang suspek na si Rafael Nobleza at walang babala na inundayan ng isang saksak sa kanang tagiliran ang karibal.
Matapos ang pananaksak, nagtatakbo nang palayo ang suspek habang humingi naman ng tulong si Ompad sa mga kawani ng Brixlander Videoke Bar na matatagpuan sa kahabaan ng F.B. Harrison St.
Base sa pahayag ni Ompad kay SPO3 Ronaldo Frades ng Station Investigation and Detective Management Section ng Pasay City police, matagal na umano siyang nililigawan ni Nobleza sa kabila ng pagtatapat nito na sinagot at nagsasama na sila ni De Villa.
Kaagad namang nalapatan ng lunas ng mga doktor ang tinamong sugat ng biktima at idineklarang nasa ligtas nang kalagayan.
