Suspects in laundry shop attack, ‘BSP murder’ fall

MEMBERS of the Manila Police District arrested two suspects tagged in the robbery-homicide incident at a laundry shop in Sta. Cruz district and another in the killing of an Oriental woman in front of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas building in Malate recently.

Mayor Alfredo S. Lim yesterday presented the suspects to the media and praised the MPD under its Director Gen. Alex Gutierrez and homicide chief Capt. Joey de Ocampo and his men for the speedy and successful resolution of the cases.

The suspects in the laundry attack were identified as George Padios, alias “Toto,” 28, of Malabon City, and Noel Nuylan, 41, of Tondo, Manila.

Padios and Nuylan were positively identified by the surviving victims as the ones who robbed the Bulls Eye Laundry Shop on Jan. 31.

Police have yet to arrest the third suspect identified as “Richard.”

The trio stabbed and killed shop owner Calvin Chioa, 35, and wounded his wife Charlene, 34, and Maricel Lebrando, 25, nanny of the couple’s son.

The suspects fled on board the victim’s car bringing with them the couple’s 4-year-old-son whom they later abandoned at a nearby street.

Police also arrested Gong Shuyang, 25, of Room 1119 EGI Tower, Taft Avenue, Manila, for allegedly killing his former girlfriend Zhao Chun Lan in front of BSP building.

The killing was caught on a closed-circuit television camera installed at the surrounding establishments.

Gong and Zhao were seen arguing before he get into a car, bumped and ran her over.

Unsatisfied, the suspect alighted and stabbed the fallen woman several times before fleeing

“The swift arrest of the suspects is one solid proof that under the leadership of Chief Supt. Gutierrez, the determination of the MPD to effectively resolve crimes expeditiously is present and that the Manila police can be depended upon” Lim said.
