Another Chinese nabbed for P10M shabu

AGENTS of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested another Chinese national after the suspect sold two kilos of shabu worth P10 million to an undercover officer in Quezon City  shortly after midnight yesterday.

PDEA chair Undersecretary Jose S. Gutierrez, Jr. said Clarence Chen Go, alias Tony Go, 36, of Xiamen, China, was collared after he handed over a kilo of shabu contained in a gift-wrapped package to a PDEA agent on Timog Avenue near Tomas Morato Street at 1 a.m.

A search of the suspect’s vehicle resulted in the seizure of two more packages each containing 500 grams of drugs.

Gutierrez said Go has been under surveillance as part of their “Case Operation Plan: Iceman” aimed at neutralizing foreign drug syndicates operating in Metro Manila and the nearby areas.

He said undercover PDEA agents made a deal with Go a week ago for the delivery of a kilo of shabu worth P3.6 million.

“Go and his group normally transacts with clients through bank prior to delivery,” Gutierrez said.

He said they will refer Go’s case to the Anti-Money Laundering Council amid reports he is involved in money-laundering activities.

Go’s arrest came amid reports that a Quezon City prosecutor has ordered the release of a Fil-Chinese businessman arrested in connection with the P40 million worth of shabu seized during a “controlled-delivery” operation also in Quezon City Sunday.

PDEA officials slammed the release of Marvin Sia saying they will appeal the order.
