MANDALUYONG, tagged as the country’s “Tiger City,” lined up a 12-day significant and fun-filled activities to mark its 67th Liberation and 18th Cityhood Anniversary on Feb. 9.
“The grandeur of this celebration is parallel to the bountiful harvest the city is getting in terms of accomplishments and effective delivery of basic services to our constituents,” Mayor Benhur Abalos said.
The city received the Presidential Award for Most Child Friendly City in the Highly Urbanized City Category, the Kabalikat Award for Local Government Unit-National Capital Region in terms of manpower program, and the Green Banner Award for having the best in Nutrition Program Management and Implementation.
“While we look at our historic past with great pride, we also look forward to the future with sense of optimism,” Abalos said.
