4 rob laundry shop

FOUR unidentified male suspects robbed a laundry shop in Sta. Cruz, Manila, killing its owner, said to be a Chinese national, injuring the latter’s wife and nanny and then abducting the couple’s  four-year-old son.

In his report, Senior Insp. Joey de Ocampo, chief of the Manila Police District (MPD)-Homicide Section, identified the fatality as Calvin  Chioa, 35, owner of the Bulls Eye Laundry Shop, at 1604  Yakal St., Sta. Cruz.

Chioa’s  wife Charlene, 34,  is now recuperating in the hospital along with their child and the boy’s nanny, whose identities are still not being disclosed, while the suspects were able to escape.

Investigator SPO4 Virgo Villareal said that the victims were found all bloodied inside the shop at around 5 a.m.

It was later learned that Calvin tried to fight off the suspects and was stabbed repeateadly in the process.

Two other housemaids were found hogtied inside the shop although they were unharmed as the suspects took with them the couple’s son identified as Nate.

For unknown reasons, the suspects later abandoned the child who was found loitering along Alvarez St. in Sta. Cruz.

The suspects, according to the police, boarded a white Toyota Corolla during the escape. The car was later found abandoned on Alvarez St.

The police, meanwhile, raised the possibility of an inside job since there were no signs of forcible entry.
