A Japanese tourist lost some P80,000 cash to holduppers who forcibly took him into a van while he was walking near the Robinson’s Place in Ermita, Manila at around 5 p.m. the other day.
The victim, Sereiji Hiroshi, 66, lodged a complaint before the Manila Police District-General Assignment Section (MPD-GAS) where he claimed that the suspects later abandoned him near the Mall of Asia in Pasay City.
The incident reportedly happened near the corner of Maria Orosa and Pedro Gil Sts.
The victim was said to be walking on his way to the mall when the suspects took him at gunpoint, forced him into a van and held him up while the van travelled southbound.
Manila Police District director Chief Supt. Alex Gutierrez ordered a follow-up operation to have the suspects identified and apprehended.
