A HALF-BROTHER of Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr. was stabbed and shot dead while his girlfriend was wounded after two bonnet-wearing men barged into his home in Parañaque City shortly before midnight Friday.
National Capital Region Police Office chief Director Alan LM Purisima ordered a manhunt for the attackers of actor Ram Bautista, 22, and his girlfriend, Janelle Manahan.
Ram was declared dead-on-arrival at the Parañaque Medical Center while Manahan was rushed to the Asian Hospital in Muntinlupa City for treatment of gunshot wounds in the face and shoulder.
Senator Revilla said the suspects entered his brother’s house on President Avenue, BF Homes, at 11:55 p.m. and fired on the victim and his girlfriend without provocation.
Although badly wounded, Manahan managed to call Patrol 117. She was still conscious when police arrived.
Investigators recovered a spent cartridge for caliber .45 pistol at the crime scene.
Senator Revilla appealed to the police to exert all efforts to get Ram’s killers. He said he doesn’t know any enemy of his brother.
The senator said he will give P500,000 reward to anybody who could provide information leading to the arrest of the killers.
Southern Police District director Chief Supt. Jose Arne M. delos Santos said Ram’s sister Ramona was at the house when the suspects arrived.
The gunmen fled taking Ramona with them. She was abandoned at a nearby mall an hour after the incident.
Police ruled out robbery as the motive for the attack since nothing was taken from the actor’s house.
Meanwhile, Parañaque City police chief Senior Supt. Billy Beltran created Task Force “RamJen” to investigate the incident.
Aside from Ramona, the task force will question Ram’s helpers identified as Rosalyn Almaher and Freddie Roman, and his production assistant Nelia Orosa who were said to be in the house when the attack happened.
The subdivision security guard Nino Tabada, who was detailed at the gate near Ram’s place will also be investigated. With reports from Marlon Purificacion
