FOUR persons, including a woman, were arrested by police and barangay officials for allegedly selling three minors for sex Thursday afternoon in Malabon City.
Malabon police deputy chief for administration Supt. Ariel Fulo said Karen Aquino, 21, Rey Rosal, 23, both of 60 Tumariz St. Bgy. Tugatog, Jefrey Dela Cruz, 33, of 37-21 Caingin St. Bgy. Tinajeros and Ericson Mariano, 33, of 80 B University Avenue, Bgy. Potrero were charged for violation of R.A 10364 of Expanded Human Trafficking Act.
Prior to their arrest, the three victims, aged 13 and 14 who were all residents of Natividad Street, Bgy. 8, Caloocan City went to Aquino’s house last January 5 after they were befriended by the latter and pimped them to the customers for profit.
PO3 Lea Baldemoro said the sex slave trade continued for several days until the victims managed to escape last Wednesday.
However, the victims decided to return to Aquino’s house Thursday to redeem their clothes and other personal stuff but Aquino and Rosal refused to return their belongings, prompting the three victims to seek the assistance of a barangay official.
The victims revealed their ordeal to the barangay official who sought the assistance of Police Community Precinct (PCP) 4 that resulted to the arrest of Aquino and Rosal. Dela Cruz and Mariano were later arrested in a follow-up operation in Bgy. Tugatog.
