Police’S continued campaign against the proliferation of illegal drugs resulted in the arrest of 11 suspected drug pushers and users in separate anti-drug operations in Marikina City the other night.
Senior Supt. Lorenzo Holanday Jr., Marikina police chief, said suspects Angela Florentino, 29, of Calumpang, Marikina; Eloisa Gabriel, of Pasig City; and Benjamin Santos Jr., 39, of Quezon City, were nabbed during a buy-bust operation on Kasi St., Bgy. Calumpang, at 11:10 p.m.
Holanday said the trio were busted after a policeman posing as buyer was able to buy a sachet of suspected shabu from them.
Suspect Christopher Anezo, 42, of Bgy. Malanday, was caught in possession of illegal drugs after police nabbed him while threatening his neighbors with a jungle bolo on Paradise St., Bgy. Malanday, at 1 p.m.
Three hours later, elements of Police Community Precinct (PCP-4) received a telephone call from a resident about an ongoing pot session at Blk. 7, Lot 11, Mustasa St., Bgy. Tumana.
The suspects, Delfin Clemente, 32, Randy Alcantara, 40, Michael Zambales, 27, Junaid Dibarusan, 28, and Romulo Gaylon, 31, were caught in the act of sniffing shabu.
At a checkpoint along Camia St. cor. Libis Bulelak, police flagged down Jonathan Ganuelas, 28, of Purok 7, Bgy. Malanday, while riding his bicycle at 3 p.m.
When policemen approached him, he threw a small plastic sachet of suspected shabu, which resulted in his arrest.
Another suspect, Virgilo Mejias, 47, of Bgy. Malanday, was arrested near his house while policemen were conducting “Oplan Tokhang.”
Police recovered a heat-sealed plastic sachet of suspected shabu.
The arrested suspects were detained, facing charges of violation RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
