UNIVERSITY of Perpetual Help System Dalta and Arellano University hammered out contrasting victories to forge a four-way logjam in second place yesterday in the NCAA seniors basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

Bright Akhuetie shone down the stretch as the Altas downed Lyceum of the Philippines University, 71-68, while the Chiefs led from wire-to-wire to beat College of Saint Benilde, 70-59, in a game where Poland’s Agnieszka Drabik became the first female basketball referee to officiate in the league.

Both teams improved at 5-2, tying defending champion Letran and Mapua in No. 2 behind San Beda’s perfect 7-0 card.
