A former employee of the Calamba City Traffic Management Office (CCTMO), who was engaged in illegal drug activities, was killed in an encounter with police in Calamba Heights Subd., Bgy. Real, Calamba City, Laguna, on Saturday night.

Calamba City police chief Supt. Fernando Ortega identified the slain suspect as Ranilo Jojo Amor, former traffic enforcer in Calamba, who died on the spot.
Police said Amor is included in the drug watchlist of the Calamba police.
Intel and warrant operatives, led by SPO2 Rogen Aldabe, conducted an anti-illegal drug operation at 11:09 p.m. at the posh subdivision, when the suspect, together with a woman companion, engaged the officers in a running gunbattle.
Ortega said the suspect threw a hand grenade at police operatives which did not explode after which the suspect boarded a motorcycle and fired at the lawmen, who fired back, killing him.
