Enderun, Lyceum stay clean

ENDERUN College  survived a late rally by Philippine Chrisitan University to escape with a 96-86 win  and  vaul tin to a share of the lead with St. Clare College-Caloocan in the 16 th NAASCU  men’s basketball tournament at the RTU gym in BonI Av e., Mandaluyong  City.

The  ‘Big Three’ of  Collins Wabo, Josh Grilli  and Willie Kamigua  provided the much-needed   baskets as  the Titans kept the Dolphins at bay  enroute to their fourth straight win and a share of the lead with the Saints.

Wabo, a  6-6  Cameroonian student,  finished with another double-double  of 18 points  and 12 rebounds for the Titans  despite foulin g out late in the third period.

Grilli and Kamigua  also finished with 18 points each for the Titans of coach Pippo Noundo.
   
Jon V on  Tam beling led the fight for the Dolphins with a game-high 27 points, followed  by Michael Ayonayon with 19 and Fidel Castro with 12.
   
The Elvis Tolentino-mentored Dolphins dropped to 1-2.        Sharing the  limelight was Lyceum of Subic Bay, which outsteadied Manuel Luis  Quezon University,   79-70, for its third straight win .
   
De Ocampo Memorial College defeated New Era Univeristy, 80-72. for a 3-1 record;  and   Philippine  Merchant Marine  Schools humbled  EARIST, 95-79,  for a 1-3 mark.
