Games Tuesday:

(JCSGO Gym)

2 p.m. -- Topstar vs. Cafe France

4 p.m. -- Racal vs. AMA

PHOENIX exploded for 39 points in the third period in a 91-83 win over defending champion Cafe France to clinch the remaining twice-to-beat slot in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup semifinals yesterday at the JCSGO Gym.

The Accelerators took a 80-58 lead heading into the payoff period and overcame the Bakers late uprising to secure their ninth win in 12 starts.

Even a win against Topstar in the final day of eliminations on Tuesday will not guarantee Cafe France (8-3) of a semifinals bonus, as it has an inferior quotient against Racal (9-2) and Phoenix.

Earlier, Gelo Alolino converted the game-winner in the final 4.6 seconds as Tanduay edged AMA Online Education, 86-84, to end its elimination round stint on a high note.

Mike Tolomia finished with 28 points and six assists, Mac Belo added 21 points and six rebounds while Ed Daquioag added 12 markers for the Accelerators.

Rodrigue Ebondo had 21 points and 14 rebounds while Carl Bryan Cruz contributed 19 points for the Bakers.

The Rhum Masters finished the elimination round with an 8-4 slate and clinch the No. 4 seed in the semifinals.

"Maganda rin silang barometer sa game na ito,” said Tanduay coach Chongson.

“They gave us a run for our money pero nag-hold pa rin ‘yung character ng team.”

Alolino paced the Rhum Masters with 20 points while Reden Celda added 17 points.

James Martinez, who two days later scored a league record 58 points on Tuesday, and Rashawn McCarthy had 32 points apiece for the Titans.

AMA, which went down to 4-7, tried to send the game in overtime but McCarthy missed a potential game-winning triple.
