BAUAN, Batangas -- A 28-year-old painter was dead on arrival at the hospital after he was shot by unidentified suspects on board an unknown motorcycle in La Paz Ext. St., Bgy. Poblacion 2, the other day.
PInsp. Dave Alex Mercado, DCOP of Bauan Police Station, identified the slain painter as Ronald Jake Caringal alias Tutet, married, native and resident of Bgy. Poblacion 2, Bauan, Batangas and included in the local police station.
The two unidentified suspects rode a black motorcycle without a plate number.
The driver wore a black helmet and the rider who shot the victim was in cream short pants, black t-shirt and black bonnet, said Mercado.
Based on initial investigation, the victim and some other people were standing along the road in La Paz Ext. St., when the suspects suddenly appeared and without any provocation, the back rider, armed with a handgun, shot the victim several times in different parts of the body. The two quickly fled after the shooting.
The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the body. He was rushed to the said hospital but he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician, Dr. Aries Jiminez Bautista.
Investigator recovered eight empty shell casings for a cal. 45 pistol and a dud bullet.
