EXPECT a new trend in both movie and tv viewing with the advent of a new set of stars, all
male muna, which Mother Lily Monteverde, known in the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s as the “starmaker unparalleled,” has recently signed up for a build-up contract.

These are, of course, JC Tiuseco, Ervic Vijandre, Ian Batherson and Brapanese models Daniel Matsunaga at Fabio Ide.

If their names sound familiar, it is because they have had the chance to appear sa ilang teleserye at shows ng GMA-7.

Mga kilala rin silang commercial models.

“I intend to make them stand out as movie stars. Lahat kasi sila, if you take a look at all of them, are star material,” ani Mother Lily tungkol sa tinagurian ng members of the entertainment na naging saksi sa ‘bagong adventure’ ng Regal Films matriarch as the ‘new men’ in Mother Lily’s life.

“Like si Fabio, may naisip na akong project for him,” dagdag ng lady produ.

Mainstay si Fabio ng programang Comedy Bar, starring Eugene Domingo and Allan K.

May pagka-comedian si Fabio. But willing daw siyang magpakita ng flesh, from buttocks hanggang ‘baba’ pa kung kailangan.

Over at TV5 naman, young talents ang ipinakilala bilang bida ng kanilang remake ng phenomenal ’80s youth-oriented movie, which was the first lead role ng noo’y still very young Aga Muhlach.

A co-production with Viva Entertainment, which produced the movie Bagets, TV5 is introducing a new generation of Bagets, composed of AJ Muhlach, nakababatang kapatid ni Aga; Josh Padilla, anak ng singer na si Gino Padilla and an Ateneo University student; Rico de la Paz, Aki Torio at Martin Velayo.

The girls naman consist of Nadine Lustre, Shy Carlos, Johan Lourens, Eula Caballero and Meg Imperial, among others.

Tapped to direct this new version of Bagets is Mark Reyes.

We learned na siya rin pala naging director ng youth-oriented series na TGIS (Thank God, It’s Saturday), produced by then ABC-5 at naging simula ng showbiz careers nina Bobby Andrews at Angelu de Leon.

Asked kung sino sa mga nabanggit na baguhan ang inaakala niyang may promise na hindi lang sumikat, kundi magaling ding umarte, ani Direk Mark, mahirap sagutin ang nabanggit na katanungan this early.

“Ask me the same question after one season of this series. Tiyak na mayroon na akong ideya kung sino sa kanila,” susog pa ni Direk.

Kabilang din sa cast ng new Bagets series sina Raymund Lauchengco (who was in the original Bagets movie), Cheska Inigo (na nasa original Bagets din),  Bernadette Allyson, Biboy Ramirez, Candy Pangilinan, Dingdong Avanzado, Jao Mapa, LJ Moreno, Joy Viado at Almira Muhlach, isa pang kapatid ni Aga.

Bagets the series will start airing tomorrow, Sunday, May 15, on TV5 after Paparazzi.
