THE Quezon City Po-lice District has a new commander in the person of Chief Supt. George Regis.

In a simple turnover ceremony yesterday, Regis said it took some time for him to assume the top QC police post because of some “appeals.” He did not elaborate.

A member of the  Philippine Military Academy  Class of 1980, Regis was chosen among the five nominees submitted for the QCPD directorship.

The QCPD has been under the leadership of Senior Supt. Arrazad Subong in an acting capacity following the transfer of then director Chief Supt. Benjardi Mantele on April 8.

Regis held several posts at the QCPD from 1990 to 2000.    Joel dela Torre
