POLICE arrested a woman after she allegedly sold her 10-month old stepson for P4,000 in Bacolod City Monday.

The suspect, whose name was withheld temporarily, was arrested based on the complaints of the child’s father who told police his son went missing after he and his live- in-partner quarreled last April 27.

He said his mother saw the suspect with the baby in a tricycle.

The woman was arrested by PO2 Frederick Estanda and PO1 Dick Allbaladejo in Purok Katilingban, with the help of Barangay 39 Chairman Dante Danoy.

The suspect admitted taking the child but denied  selling him. She said she was mad at the child’s father for planning to dump her.   

She said she entrusted the baby to a woman she met in Iloilo.

The child’s father said he will file charges against the suspect if he fails to get his baby back.
