BALER, Aurora – The provincial board here has passed a resolution recommending to Gov. Bellaflor Angara-Castillo the replacement of the embattled provincial jail warden amid complaints raised against him by jail guards and prisoners.
The SanguniangPanlalawigan (SP) chaired by Vice Gov. Gerardo Noveras adopted the report of the SP committee on personnel policies and administration chaired by Board Member Cesar Pimentel which sought the reassignment of OIC provincial warden Amado de Luna and prison guard Charito Bernardino.
The SP also adopted all the recommendations of the five-man committee, including the increase in the daily subsistence allowance of the inmates and the allocation of funds for the procurement of firearms and ammunition for jail guards. The Pimentel committee is also composed of BM Oscar Padua, vice chairman, and board members Philip Butch Bautista, Renato Pascua and Consuelo Castillo.
Noveras said the resolution has been transmitted to the governor’s office for Angara-Castillo’s action. Mamer Bañez
