COMEDIENNE Pokwang is back in harness.
After being eased out from “Wowowee,” some people thought she’s a goner. But while she was out of the small screen, she had the world as her stage, literally. Pokwang kept herself busy with out-of-the-country shows, which belied the rumor that she’s down and out.
She also did a movie, “Pak! Pak! My Dr. Kwak” with Vic Sotto and Bea Alonzo, and when it turned out to be a big hit, Pokwang is suddenly back in the limelight.
Her guesting on the noontime show, “Happy Yipee Yehey,” to promote the movie likewise opened a new door for her. Her chemistry with the hosts quickly caught up attention, and ABS-CBN management has decided to put her on the show permanently.
Her being visible on interviews again has revealed another silent achievement: a new house worth P30 million in Summer Hills, Antipolo. It has eight rooms, big enough for her and only daughter, and huge number of visitors every now and then.
Her old house in Antipolo, which she also refurbished, is now occupied by her siblings.
A wise investor, Pokwang can be considered one of the wealthiest showbiz personalities. When told that men would be more intimidated now as she is now worth millions, she says: “Hindi naman ‘yun pinag-uusapan basta mamahalin niya ako at makakasama ko siya habambuhay.”
Would she require her future husband to sign a pre-nuptial agreement? “Ay, oo,” she claims. “Para sa anak ko. Wala naman siyang ibang malalapitan.”
So, there. Men who’re interested to court her must be ready to accept Pokwang’s requirement. Sign a pre-nup, or back off.
