SIX years without corruption.

This was the pledge yesterday of Bangon Pilipinas candidates, led by Bro. Eddie Villanueva, after they formally launched their national campaign by unfurling a mammoth flag together with thousands of their supporters in early morning rites at the Rizal Park.

“Given the privilege to serve the government, we will transform this nation in the first 100 days of office that even the world will take notice,” Villanueva said.

Villanueva , running mate  Perfecto Yasay, Jr. and the seven Bangon senatorial bets – Kata Inocencio, Alex Tinsay, Reynaldo Princesa, Ramoncito Ocampo, Habib Adz Nikabulin, Dr. Zafrullah Alonto and Dr. Israel Virgines – earlier led the unfurling of a  huge flag measuring 180 x 92 meters and  weighing 3.8 tons.

It was lent by businesswoman Grace Galindez Gupana, a staunch Bangon supporter, who spent P10 million to make the flag.

“The unfurling of this huge flag is a symbolic gesture of new and better Philippines under the Bangon Pilipinas party and manifests also our hopes for national unity,” Yasay noted.

Villanueva said his campaign to stamp out corruption will begin at the very top with the appointment of his Cabinet members.

“These men and women should meet Bangon’s  criteria of the 4 ‘Cs’: Character, Competence, Courage, and Compassion for the Filipino people,” he said.

“We will appoint only those who have unquestioned honesty and integrity, have competence, the courage or political will to do what must be done and compassion for the Filipino people whom they will serve. There will be no monkey business under a Villanueva administration because we will strive for leadership by example.”
