AS the campaign period officially started yesterday, a senior member of the House of Representatives warned on narco politics. Ilocos Norte Rep. Roque Ablan, chairman of the House committee on dangerous drugs, urged the Philippine National Police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency to intensify their campaign against illegal drugs. Ablan said that the selling and smuggling of prohibited drugs are very possible during the campaign period. The solon is particularly alarmed with reports coming from PDEA claiming that Davao City could be one of the country’s drug shipping hubs. |
