A STILL unidentified gunman went on a shooting spree in Cotabato City shortly before noon Wednesday, killing a 28-year-old man and seriously injuring two students before escaping on board a motorcycle, police said yesterday.
Quoting witnesses, police said three suspects were involved in the daring attack that occurred at the corner of Andres Alonzo and Pansacala Streets in Bgy. Rosary Heights 10 at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
One of the gunmen fired successive shots at Morsie Angay, a resident of Malagapas St., without any provocation as he and the two other victims were about to board a multi-cab. Angay died on the spot.
Stray bullets hit Shiela Mae Gayumaling, 18, in the face, and Firuz Adam, 16, in his left leg.
Both were taken to the Cotabato Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Police Regional Office 12 director Chief Supt. Gil Meneses said policemen recovered three spent caliber .45 casings at the scene. The suspects are still being hunted as of yesterday, he said.
