Matteo ready for the lead


AFTER his “My Binondo Girl” and ‘Happy Yipee Yehey,” Matteo Guidicelli has been busy preparing for various sports activities this summer. Just recently, he took part in the Vaseline Xterra Philippines, where in he competed in the 500m swimming, 30k biking and 5k run. He was hailed 2nd runner-up and one of the top ten Xterra Lite winners.

Unknown to many, Matteo, who is a former go-kart racer, is really a sport enthusiast and takes becoming a tri-athlete seriously. The young actor has been part of the Xterra Philippines races since 2010 and has been able to compete in six races. He aims to run in full the Xterra in 2013.

Trained by top tri-athlete Noel Salvador, Matteo also participated in a full triathlon in Bantayan, Cebu last April 8. The race involved a 1.5km swim, a 90 or 60km bike and a 10 or 21km run. He hopes to be able to join the prestigious Ironman race this August and has already registered for the relay. Matteo has also invited fellow Star Magic artists, including former De La Salle University varsity swimmer Enchong Dee, to join him for the swim category.

By reviving his competitive spirit, Matteo aims to become a good influence to the youth not only through acting, but also by becoming fit and healthy through sports.

Apart from his sports, Matteo is all set for his launch as lead of Precious Hearts Romance: Isla where he will be paired with co-Star Magic artist Jessy Mendiola. Expect a bolder,mature and sexy Matteo in this upcoming soap opera soon in ABS-CBN.
