After the recent hostage crisis incident in Navotas City, Mayor John Rey Tiangco reminded school principals to strictly implement the “No ID, No Entry” policy in their schools.

“The existing policy shall be observed strictly in the schools to avoid the repeat of this incident,” Tiangco said.    

He also appealed that even students undergo tight security measures upon entering the school premises, be searched and made to sign in logbooks.

Tiangco, with the assistance of his brother Rep. Toby Tiangco, recently issued three new police mobile cars to Navotas police for higher visibility and  intensified routine patrols near school premises.

During a commendation ceremony for the said institution for the peaceful resolution of the hostage crisis last Feb. 1 at the Navotas Polytechnic College, Tiangco said the incident, which ended without any untoward incident considering the release of Amy Perez, the hostage  victim, unharmed and the voluntary surrender of the suspect because of the relentless effort and spirited collaboration of PNP Navotas and the rest of the members of the city’s Crisis Management Committee, shall inspire us to continue and further intensify our service to the people most especially in assuring peace and order in the city.

The Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team was also advised to do their part in this effort to secure school premises at all times.
