“THERE’S always a way to improve”.
Thus said Malacanang even as it congratulated the athletes who represented the Philippines in the 26th Southeast Asian Games in Indonesia.
Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said the Filipino people appreciate the sacrifices the athletes had made just to represent the country in the SEA Games.
”Maraming salamat sa sakripisyo at pagdala ng karangalan sa ating bayan (We thank them for the sacrifices they made just to bring honor to our country),” Valte said.
But Valte said there will always be room for improvement, pointing out the government will look into what it can do to help the athletes improve their showing in the next SEA Games.
”In all fields, there’s always a way to improve. Let’s see what we can do to boost our athletes,” she said.
Still, she said the country has been blessed with successive success stories of Filipinos abroad, in various fields.
These included triumphs in beauty pageants, academic competitions and even Filipino boxing champ and Sarangani Rep. Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao’s triumph over Juan Manuel Marquez only last week.
