TWO persons were killed in a vehicular accident in Las Piñas City yesterday.

Jovy Morales, 43, of 33 Doña Cristeta Subdivision, Pamplona I, was hit by a speeding van and was dragged several meters away before it rammed a lamp post. She did not make it alive at the Perpetual Help Medical Center due to serious head and body injuries.

The driver of the van, Diosdado Liwanag, of Block 5, Lot16, Kamagong St., Villa Almanza I, died on the spot.

Case investigator PO3 Enrique Acosta of the Las Piñas police Traffic Enforcement Unit said the Isuzu Hi-lander (WFP-574) driven by Liwanag was traversing Alabang-Zapote Road at 6:30 a.m. when it suddenly lost control.

The wayward van then struck Morales, who was then waiting for a ride in the area.  

In Quezon City, a still unidentified couple died after the motorcycle they were riding was bumped by another vehicle at dawn yesterday.

PO1 Anthony Alorro said the couple was riding a Honda Wave Dash motorcycle along Belfast Avenue in Barangay Pasong Putik at 2:30 a.m. when they crashed into a car.

Both victims died on the spot. Police said they were not wearing helmets.
