INVESTWELL-Logohu seeks its second straight win when it meets Wang's Ballclub today in the 2011 MBL Invitational basketball championship at the Lyceum gym in Intramuros, Manila.
Buoyed by its smashing 73-57 win over MOB Packers last Nov. 10, Investwell-Logohu will again rely on veteran Erickson Araman, Ram Macasaet and Ronald Roy when it takes the floor against Wang’s in this single-round tournament sponsored by Cebuana Lhuillier, Dickies Underwear, PRC Couriers and WG Diner.
The 6-4 Araman scored a team-high 16 points, most of them in the first three quarters, to power Investwell to a surprisingly easy win over MOB of playing coach Richie Melencio on opening-day.
The Makati City-based import-export company, which is being handled by coach Eugene Tan and assistant coach Edwin Mendoza, will also lean on Ryeon Delos Trinos, Kevin Rabalo, Mark Pangilinan and Floyd Dedicatoria.
Wang’s, which is hoping to win the title under coach Pablo Lucas and manager Alex Wang, will pin its hopes on Fil-Am standout Anthony Cuevas, Nhoel Baltazar, Jerry Orera, Ryan Regalado, Edrick Ferrer, Joseph Lingao-Lingao, Jonathan Pinera, Jonathan Aldave, Mario Reyes, Joeward Jamil., MJ Magbanua and Ramon Litonjua Jr.
The Mandaluyong-based team is being supported by PRC Couriers, Aquadys Inc.and WG Diners.
The other teams expected to participate are University of Santo Tomas-Ironcon Builders (coach Pido Jarencio), Lyceum of the Philippines (coach Bonnie Tan), Hobe Bihon (coach Junnel Mendiola), Letran College (coach Louie Alas), PNP Leads (coach Estong Ballesteros), Mapua (coach Chito Victolero), and MBL Corporate Cup titlist Star Group of Publications (coach Alfred Bartolome).
Multi-titled coach Loreto “Ato” Tolentino is the commissioner, while Albert Andaya is the tournament director.
