NAPOLCOM holds confabto professionalize PNP


TOP officials of the National Police Commission are now discussing plans, projects and activities that will further professionalize the Philippine National Police.

Napolcom Vice Chairman Eduardo Escueta said the multi-pronged approach will be laid down in the 2nd Central-Regional Management Quarterly Conference to discuss, issues and concerns affecting the operations and administration of the commission.

The three-day conference will also give updates to the regional directors of Napolcom to better equip them with the latest innovations of the commission with regard to the police force.

“The commission will also discuss new policy issuances for the PNP to further professionalize the police force,” Escueta added.

Among the agenda are the consolidated report on the conduct of police examinations, proposed revival of the Regional Multi-Sectoral Monitoring Team and monitoring report of physical inventory and inspection of PNP personnel to be conducted by the local chief executives.

“We will also discuss the proposed amendment of NAPOLCOM Memorandum Circular No. 2002-011 entitled `Operationalizing the Participation of Local Chief Executives in the Administration of the PNP’ as provided for under RA 6975,” Escueta said.

The conference will also tackle the assessment of the Integrated Transformation Program of the PNP, the proposed amendment to the procedures and guidelines for the recruitment, selection and appointment of PNP uniformed personnel and termination of service of newly appointed PO1  still  temporary status.

Another highlight of the conference is the policy formulation for the creation of a body which will supervise and monitor solely the People’s Law Enforcement Board.
