Manalang grants ‘Balik Sigla’ rides to cops’ kids, families

CAMP Macabulos, Tarlac City -- Tarlac police provincial director Senior Supt Alfred S. Corpus recently extended his gratitude to the city’s top executive for offering free “Balik Sigla” rides to the policemen’s children and families during the TPPO family day.

Corpus said police officers are not only known for their dedication to work but for their family as well that is why after days of full alert status brought about by hectic schedule of activities since the start of 2011, he made sure that summer vacation will be the bonding time for both the peacekeepers and their family members, especially the children.

With this, he availed of the Balik Sigla Rides offered free by City Mayor Gelacio “Ace” Manalang during his visit as guest speaker in one of the regular Monday flag rising and awarding ceremonies in the command.

The Balik Sigla rides are among the highlights of this year’s cityhood anniversary celebration composed of bump car, train, octopus, Spanish ship known as “conquistador,” round up, roller coaster and many others.

Dubbed “Handog ng TPPO sa mga anak ng pulis,” this police family affair was done for the first time under Corpus. He said the activity is a component of the “TPPO Family Day” held this year on May 4 from 6 to 11 p.m. at the Tarlac City Plazuela.

“It’s a perfect form of family bonding spiced with a bunch of fun and excitement for the kids of PNP personnel from the TPPO, Provincial Public Safety Company, National Support Units, Tarlac City Police Station and municipal police stations provincewide,” Corpus said.
