TWO alleged members of a holdup gang were killed when they shot it out with operatives from the Manila Police District-Police Station 2 under Col. Ernesto Tendero after holding up a woman the other night in Tondo, Manila.
Senior Inspector Armando Macaraeg, chief of the homicide section, said the identities of the two fatalities are still unknown and that they both had the word “Commando” tattoed on their chests.
The incident happened before 6 p.m. the other day along J. Abad Santos Avenue in front of the M. Hizon Elementary School in Tondo.
Prior to it, a woman was shouting for help, attracting policemen from MPD-Station 2 to respond.
The suspects boarded a jeep going to Monumento but the police followed them, so they decided to jump out while firing at the pursuing cops. The policemen returned fire, killing the two instantly.
