THE National Bureau of Investigation yesterday vowed to bring road rage murder suspect Jason Ivler to court on Tuesday for the arraignment of his case. “We are directed by the court to bring him for his arraignment on Feb. 16. So we’ll take him out of his hospital room to a QC court and return him there afterwards,” NBI Special Action Unit chief Angelito Magno said. Judge Alexander Balut had ordered the NBI to present Ivler to court during his arraignment. “But in the event that Ivler will be discharged before Feb. 16, then we will turn him over to the QC jail. And it will be the QC jail personnel who will escort him to the court,” Magno said. He added it is up to Ivler’s lawyers to file a motion to defer his arraignment citing his health condition. Ivler’s mother, Marlene Aguilar, said her son’s condition is not yet stable. But the NBI official said they were told that his condition has improved. Ivler was tagged in the killing of Renato Victor Ebarle, Jr., son of a Malacañang executive, over a traffic spat. Hector Lawas |
