MANILA Mayor Alfredo S. Lim will award today members of the Manila Police District responsible for busting a car theft gang in an operation in Valenzuela City. Lim will give the award to a team of policemen headed by MPD Station 3 chief Senior Supt. Nelson Yabut. Yabut and his men arrested eight syndicate members, including Rolly Bartolo, 40. Bartolo and his cohorts took the brand new cars at the AAR BF, General Insurance Corp. Office on Oroquieta St., Sta. Cruz, Manila Tuesday. They were spotted by SPO2 Eduardo Lauriaga, who arrested Bartolo after a brief chase. Bartolo identified their leader as Edmundo Bartolo and revealed their safehouses in Pasig and Valenzuela. Police raided the safehouse in Pasig but failed to arrest any suspect. Yabut and his men then proceeded to Lamesa Street in Ugong, Valenzuela and arrested Edmundo Bonifacio, 26, Nathaniel Rivera, 45, Rodel Overos, 22, Armando Vergara, 52, Christopher Ducot, 26, Roel Overos, 29, and Jomel Salvatierra, 28.
