Wall collapses, worker dies PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 10 February 2010 19:10

A CONSTRUCTION worker was buried alive after the concrete wall of a government project collapsed yesterday in Pasay City.

Edgardo Flores was declared dead on arrival at the Pasay City General Hospital.

SPO1 Joel Landicho said Flores and his co-worker, Jose Grimpluma, 29, were working at the Roxas Canal North Inland Channel in Roxas Boulevard when the accident happened.

The wall pinned Flores as mud and water rushed inside the pit, burying him alive.

Grimpluma was lucky to  escape  and sought the help of their foreman Rolando Almoros.

Police said they will determine if the private firm, JD Legaspi Construction, failed to observe proper safety requirements at the work site.            Alvin Murcia
