FULL speed ahead! This is the battle cry of Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Jr. in charting the vision and mission of Parañaque in the next three years. “We will not stop the momentum. Upliftment of the quality of life of our constituents is a continuing task,” Bernabe said. He commended his co-workers in government – from the lowly street sweeper to the high local executive – for the hard work, perseverance and dedication they showed and for transforming Parañaque into a progressive city. “Never had a few given so much to so many. Public service is a challenging, if not thankless task. But they worked hard, persevered and delivered,” he said. He cited the improvement of the local economy accounting for the improved delivery of basic services. He built more infrastructures, schools and health centers than all his predecessors. The city was cited by the World Health Organization for its HEART project which helped solve the high infant mortality rate, shortage of potable water and high crime index. “I leave my political fate to the people. My accomplishments will campaign for me,” Bernabe said. |
