BRAZILIAN actress and television host Daiana Menezes is in trouble for alleged tax evasion.

Menezes, a mainstay of GMA noontime show Eat Bulaga and TV5’s May Darling Aswang, was charged before the Department of Justice for her alleged attempt to evade tax and willful failure to file returns and pay taxes.

The actress-model, who resides at Unit 4-C Bright Place Condominium, Scout Bayoran St., Quezon City, failed to file any income tax returns from 2007 to 2009 despite being required under the law as a resident alien deriving income from within the Philippines.

Records from the Bureau of Internal Revenue showed that Menezes received a total taxable income of P2,659,668.10 from 2007 to 2009 from various sources, including Baliwag Lechon Manok, Inc., TAPE, Inc. and GMA Network.

The BIR said that the estimated aggregate tax liabilities of the actress-TV host amounted to P983,658.07.
