UNLIKE his mother,  Ang Galing Pinoy partylist Representative Mikey Arroyo was able to leave for the United States the other night without any hitches.                

Arroyo, wearing a checkered grey suit, evaded questions from the media who waited for his arrival at the NAIA Terminal 2 and went straight to the check-in counter after alighting from his vehicle at around 9 p.m.                                                 

He left via Philippine Airlines flight PR 104 bound for San Francisco, California, which departed at 10:45 p.m. but before that, he queued at the immigration and screening processes just like ordinary passengers, even removing his shoes at the final security check area.                                                            

Reports have it that Arroyo was bound for the US to raise funds for the health care program of the sector he represents in Congress.                                         

Arroyo and his wife Ma. Angela are facing tax evasion charges before the Court of Tax Appeals.                                                                                                 

His mother, the former President now Pampanga Congressman Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, was not able to leave when she went to the airport recently.  Yesterday, she was reportedly set to again attempt to leave after the Supreme Court sustained its earlier decision to issue a temporary restraining order against the watchlist order on the ex-president.   

However, a lower court issued an arrest warrant against Mrs. Arroyo after finding probable cause on the charges of electoral sabotage against her.
