Building permits done in 3 days – Lim PDF Print E-mail

MANILA Mayor Alfredo S. Lim yesterday said that the processing period for building permit  application has been reduced to three days.

City administrator Jay Marzan said the mayor also directed all concerned departments and units to shorten the period for the compliance of requirements from their offices so the applicants can immediately complete the documents and proceed to the application proper.

Under building regulations, permits may be issued within 15 days, depending on how fast the applicant can comply with all the required documents.

Building official Melvin Balagot, however, clarified that the three-day period applies only to those who have completed the necessary requirements and who have paid the required fees.

The building permit application includes the structural, plumbing, sidewalk and architectural aspects of the application.

Balagot said he is planning to put up a one-stop-shop where all the requirements may be processed quickly for the immediate issuance of building permits. He said the move aims to attract more investors in the city.
