SIX prisoners bolted the Misamis Oriental Provincial Jail in Cagayan de Oro City Tuesday morning by destroying the ceiling and roof of their cell and scaling the prison wall.

A Police Regional Office 10 report said two of the fugitives identified as Loreto Monterola and Reneboy Zamaranos were later recaptured by members of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office during a pursuit operation. Monterola is being held for frustrated homicide while Zamaranos was locked up for qualified theft.

The four others are still being hunted as of press time by police and provincial jail officials, said PRO10 director Chief Supt. Conrado Laza. Their names and offenses were not immediately established.

Investigators said the six bolted the provincial jail while their fellow prisoners were sleeping. Jail guards on duty will face an investigation for negligence, Laza said.

In Camarines Sur, two detainees bolted the Iriga City Police Station jail by cutting the steel bar of their cell last Sunday.

PRO5 director Chief Supt. Cecilio Calleja said Roderick Occiano, jailed for a drug offense, and Jally Fernandez, held for rape, are still being hunted.

Calleja has ordered the investigation of the policemen on duty when the two escaped.
