4 p.m. -- SSC-R vs. UP (V-League)
6 p.m. -- ADMU vs. FEU (V-League)
UNIVERSITY of the Philippines and San Sebastian dispute the third Final Four berth while Ateneo shoots for the last seat against early semifinalist Far Eastern University today in the Shakey’s V-League Collegiate Conference at the Philsports Arena.
The Lady Maroons and the Lady Stags dropped their previous outings to fall into a tie with the Lady Eagles at third at 2-2 with the first two teams knocking each other out in the 4 p.m. opening game.
But Ateneo, which swept ousted University of Santo Tomas last Monday to keep its semis bid alive, will also have a tougher opponent in FEU which is also expected to go all-out for the momentum needed in the Final Four by getting the No. 1 seed.
The Lady Eagles and the Lady Tamaraws collide at 6 p.m.
Defending champion National University and FEU took the first two semis slots with 4-1 and 3-1 slates, respectively, leaving UP, San Sebastian and Ateneo.
The Lady Maroons are seeking a strong rebound from their 25-23, 19-25, 24-26, 19-25 loss to the Lady Bulldogs last Monday behind Diana Carlos, Justine Dorog, Isa Molde, Kathy Bersola, Nicole Tiamzon and playmaker Mae Basarte.
Grethcel Soltones hopes to step up as she tries to lead the Lady Stags to the next round although the reigning Open Conference MVP will need to draw solid backup from the likes of Katherine Villegas, Joyce Sta. Rita, Denice Lim, libero Alyssa Eroa and setter Vira Guillema to get their bid going.
Ateneo is also hard-pressed to pound the win against a solid FEU side determined to regain the title it won in 2014.
A loss will send the Lady Eagles to a playoff against the loser of the San Sebastian-UP duel for the last semis seat to be played Saturday, also at Philsports Arena.
