JOINT police and military troops arrested a notorious New People’s Army (NPA) commander and two criminals in separate operations in Davao Oriental, La Union and Nueva Vizcaya.
Reports from the Philippine National Police (PNP)-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) identified the NPA commander as Allan Montecalvo, alias Kumander Em-Em.
CIDG chief Director Victor Deona said the suspect was arrested at around 5 p.m. in Purok 2, Sitio Quizon, Bgy. Ilangay, Lupon, Davao Oriental.
Deona said Kumander Em-Em served as secretary of the Compostela Valley Guerilla Front and is wanted for violation of Presidential Decree (PD) 1866 or illegal possession of firearms, ammunition and explosives.
Meanwhile, in Baguio City, the CIDG arrested a certain Murphy Asil, who is wanted for two counts of robbery and listed as no. 10 most wanted person in the Cordillera police’s Lambat-Sibat.
In Nueva Vizcaya, police arrested Mark Joel Kimmayong who is wanted for five counts of rape and listed as no. 2 most wanted person in the province.
Kimmayong was arrested at around 9:30 a.m. in Bgy. Ampakleng, Diadi, Nueva Vizcaya.
