Ease up Hangover


IT’S Christmas. Everyone is busy greeting, exchanging gifts with friends and loved ones.

Alcohol drinks are always part of this merriment. Hangover comes next.

While coffee is the common cure, there are some ill effects of caffeine. Here are some effective and proven hangover cures.

* Fruits. Drinking fruit juice or eating fruit relieved some hangover symptoms. Fruits and fruit juices contain a sugar called fructose, which may help your body clear alcohol faster. Banana is good. Banana helps restore electrolyte balance and replenish body’s fluids.

* Bread. Starchy carbohydrates, such as toast or crackers, may help to counteract nausea and low blood sugar. If you feel headaches, fatigue and cold sweats after drink, eat some crackers or toast bread.

* Soup. Salt and potassium-based soup may replace lost electrolytes, relieving some of the symptoms of dehydration: headache, weakness, dizziness.

* Fluids. Drinking alcohol causes your body to lose a lot of water, especially if you’ve been sick to your stomach. Rehydrating with water or sports drinks could help you feel better.
